GALVOS – THE CONSTRUCT
OVERVIEW

Galvos the Construct is one mean machine.
His damage output is off the charts, he only gets stronger as the fight goes on, and he can easily kill your team in one missile barrage – should he get to full power.
For all of his refinements, he does have a major weakness – his Iron Catalyst Passive. By placing a steady stream of debuffs on Galvos, you can drastically increase the damage dealt to him. Placing plenty of buffs on your Invokers will also reduce his damage output.
You’ll also need to be aware of his exclusive debuff – Rival. This is applied to a specific Invoker by his Combo Attack, increasing the damage they receive from Galvos, while simultaneously increasing the damage the recipient deals out to Galvos in return. If you manage to sync this up with the bonuses of Iron Catalyst, you’ll be sending the Construct to the scrapyard in no time.
So what’s the winning formula? By our calculations, you’ll need a single Tank to draw Galvos’ attention and a mix of buffers and debuffers to exploit the Iron Catalyst Passive. One other thing to note – Galvos deals damage based on his target’s ATK stat, which gives Tanks and Supports a little easier of a time.
DO
✓ Bring a Tank and Supports
✓ Have Invokers or Relics with Daze and Atrophy Tolerance
✓ Be on the move!
✓ Keep your Tank topped up with buffs
DON'T
✕ Bring multiple Tanks. You want one dedicated defender drawing Galvos’ attention and taking all of your team’s buffs
✕ Rely on Auto. To avoid some of Galvos’ more lethal attacks, you’ll need to dodge in specific directions
✕ Neglect debuffs. You’ll need a balancer of debuffs and buffs to succeed in this fight
SKILL BREAKDOWN
Iron Catalyst [Passive]
Galvos deals 5% less damage to each target per buff on the target.
Galvos takes 5% more damage from all enemy attacks per debuff on Galvos.
TIP #1: Use this passive to your advantage! Load up your Tank with plenty of buffs to reduce Galvos’ offense, and have your support Invokers overwhelm him with debuffs to deal huge damage.
TIP #2: Combine the Passive’s effects with the Rival debuff. With careful buff management on your Tank, you can negate all of the negative effects of the Rival debuff, leaving only its damage boosting benefits! Combine that with the fact Galvos’ damage scales based on his target’s ATK (and Tanks naturally have a low ATK stat), you can have Galvos hitting like a wet noodle, while you’re striking with unstoppable force. Not bad! Just make sure your Tank is the target of the Rival debuff, or you’re leaving damage on the table.
Combo Attack #1
Attacks 1 enemy, dealing N damage. Casts a Rival debuff on the target, lasting 15s.
Rival Debuff
Increases the damage the recipient deals to the debuff producer by 50%.
Also increases the damage the recipient receives from the debuff producer by 25%.
TIP #1: Have your Tank be the target of this debuff! As they will be the one locked in single combat with Galvos (and will be receiving the most buffs from their teammates), it pays for your Tank to become Galvos’ rival. Combine the bonus damage dealt from the Rival debuff with the damage bonus from the Iron Catalyst Passive, and you’re on a roll.
Combo Attack #2
Creates a 7m radius zone around Galvos, dealing N damage to all enemies in the zone. Casts 1 stack of Atrophy Corruption on each target. The Atrophy Corruption ticks 1 time every 10s. Each tick damages the target by 0.01% MAX HP. Each stack of Atrophy Corruption decreases the target's RES by 1%.
Combo Attack #3
Attacks 1 enemy 2 times, dealing N damage.
Skill 1 – Burning Salvo
Attacks all enemies in the arena from a distance of 40m, dealing N damage per hit. Casts 1 stack of Atrophy Corruption on each target. The Atrophy Corruption ticks 1 time every 10s. Each tick damages the target by 0.0001% of their MAX HP. Each stack of Atrophy Corruption decreases the target's RES by 1%.
Targets all enemies in a 5m radius. Shoots 1 rocket at each enemy in the area, that each take 1.5s to land, dealing N damage to all enemies in a 3m radius of the point of impact. Repeats 2 times, every 1.5s. Casts Daze Corruption on each target, lasting 5s. The Daze Corruption Purges 2 buffs from each target.
TIP #1: Bring Atrophy Tolerance. Galvos will almost always hit your entire party with the opening salvo, so you’re guaranteed to take some Atrophy Corruption. This will slowly mount up during the fight and eventually become a huge health drain, so bring some Relics or Invokers with Atrophy Corruption.
TIP #2: Dodge the second rocket! While the first barrage is a guaranteed hit, you can dash out of the way of the second hit with careful timing. Watch for when the red circle appears or better yet – move more than 5m away from Galvos to avoid being targeted at all.
Skill 2 – Seismic Pumps
Galvos creates multiple seismic rings, each one increasing in magnitude.
Attacks all enemies in a 2.5m radius, dealing N damage per hit.
Then, attacks all enemies in a 2.5m wide ring, at a 2.5m distance away from Galvos, dealing damage proportional to each target's ATK per hit. Then, repeats this 4 times, with the ring moving 2.5m further away from Galvos each time. Each ring takes 1.5s to charge.
Each hit casts Daze Corruption on each target, lasting 5s. The Daze Corruption Purges 2 buffs from each target.
TIP #1: Dash towards Galvos. While this may seem like madness, dash towards Galvos once after the initial attack is complete. You’ll dodge the ever-widening damage rings and be able to keep your offense going.
TIP #2: Manual your Tank. You want to have little to no Daze Corruption on your Tank, so you can retain as many buffs on them as possible and enjoy the damage reduction from Galvos’ Iron Catalyst Passive. Don’t rely on Auto to dodge the damage rings – take direct control to bob and weave through them.
Skill 3 – Needle Riot
Galvos pummels an enemy with rapid strikes, then unloads on everyone in the arena.
Attacks 1 enemy 5 times, dealing N damage per hit.
Then, attacks all enemies in the arena from a distance of 80m, dealing N damage per hit. Casts 1 stack of Atrophy Corruption on each target. The Atrophy Corruption ticks 1 time every 10s. Each tick damages the target by 0.0001% of their MAX HP. Each stack of Atrophy Corruption decreases the target's RES by 1%.
TIP #1: Bring Atrophy Tolerance. Like with Burning Salvo, everyone will take a stack of Atrophy Corruption from the second part of this skill, so having some Atrophy Tolerance is vital.
Skill 4 – Steel Entanglement
Galvos launches himself on an enemy, then pulls all enemies towards himself for a devastating attack.
Jumps to the furthest enemy in a 20m radius. Then, pulls all enemies in the arena towards Galvos.
Then, after 5s, attacks all enemies in a 25m radius, dealing N damage per hit. Casts Daze Corruption on each target, lasting 15s. The Daze Corruption Purges 2 buffs from each target.
TIP #1: Run! As soon as you’ve been pulled in by the chains, dash as fast as you can out of the attack radius. When playing on Auto, ensure your Invokers have a decent Instinct stat so they’ll automatically run out of danger.
TIP #2: Better yet, stack Resistance or bring immunity. Pull effects go through an Accuracy vs Resistance check, just like other debuffs – and if you don't get pulled here, you don't get attacked. Spread out and avoid one of Galvos’ most painful skills.
Skill 5 – Combustive Power
Galvos destroys a Power Cell and increases his strength.
Galvos jumps to a Power Cell and destroys it.
After destroying the Power Cell, Galvos gains +30% ATK, +10% Crit Rate, and +15% Crit Damage.
Galvos can gain up to +60% Crit Rate and +90% Crit Damage from this Skill - but unlimited ATK.
TIP #1: Keep your focus on Galvos. He is wide open while he’s moving and destroying the Power Cell, so don’t get distracted.
TIP #2: You cannot steal or block the stat gains from destroying the Power Cell. Like with Koltmos’ Deadsun Ritual, the bonuses Galvos receives are permanent stat boosts, not buffs. Focus on blunting these boosts with debuffs – which will also see you dealing more damage to Galvos, as a result of his Iron Catalyst Passive.
CORRUPTIONS
Galvos has two Corruptions: one Damage Corruption (Atrophy), and one Control Corruption (Daze).
Each of Galvos’ attacks will deal extra damage as Atrophy Damage, which is not decreased by your Invokers’ DEF Stat.
DAMAGE CORRUPTION – ATROPHY

Atrophy Corruption
Each stack of Atrophy damages the target by a percentage of their MAX HP every tick. Each stack also decreases the target's RES. Infinite duration.
Atrophy Tolerance
Atrophy Corruption is a damage-over-time effect that damages the recipient by a percentage of their MAX HP every tick. It also decreases the target's RES by a certain percentage. Atrophy Corruption has an infinite duration and cannot be removed. Atrophy Corruption stacks additively, so each stack of Atrophy directly increases the damage per tick along with the RES reduction.
Bosses with Atrophy Corruption also deal direct Atrophy damage from their Skills, in addition to their regular damage. Direct Atrophy damage ignores the target's DEF stat, and can only be decreased by the target's Atrophy Tolerance.
Increasing an Invoker's Atrophy Tolerance will decrease all Atrophy damage by the Invoker's Tolerance percentage, along with decreasing the effects of the RES reduction.
CONTROL CORRUPTION – DAZE

Daze Corruption
Stuns the target, making them unable to move or use Skills. Instantly purges 2 buffs from the target when Daze Corruption first lands.
Daze Tolerance
Daze Corruption instantly purges 2 buffs from the target as soon as the Corruption lands, then stuns them for the duration.
Bosses with Daze Corruption can become incredibly hard to navigate due to being unable to guarantee which Buffs your team will have up at any time. Whenever they get hit with Daze, they'll lose 2 of their buffs straight away.
Increasing an Invoker's Daze Tolerance will decrease the duration of the Daze's stun by the Invoker's Tolerance percentage. And at 100% Daze Tolerance, the Buff purge will also be blocked.
STRATEGY
A fearsome killing machine, Galvos hits very hard and only gets stronger as the fight goes on.
You’ll have to constantly keep him debuffed to slow his momentum, while also keeping your Tank fully buffed up to stand up to Galvos’ assault.
This also relates to one major element of this fight – Galvos’ Iron Catalyst Passive. For each debuff on Galvos, he’ll take 5% more damage and he’ll deal 5% less damage per buff on a target. So bring plenty of Support Invokers to be simultaneously keeping your Tank buffed up and Galvos debuffed – so he takes more damage and your Tank takes less.
With only one Tank engaging in direct combat with Galvos, it feels like a fight you can leave to Auto right? Not exactly. While there are many of Galvos’ attacks that are simply unavoidable, there are a few that require specific movement in order to dodge them.
His Burning Salvo Skill is a great example. The first hit locks onto all of your Invokers and pummels them with a barrage of rockets. You just need to weather the storm here, and keep an eye out for the Atrophy Corruption it applies. The second hit however – you can dodge by either:
Moving out of Galvos’ immediate range
Inputting a well-timed dodge just as the second rocket is about to hit you
Skill 3, Needle Riot, also keeps up the Atrophy Corruption, with the first flurry of hits being focused on one target – hopefully your Tank – and the following eruption of blades hitting everyone in the arena and applying Atrophy. Without careful management of the Corruption, your health will suddenly start to ebb away at a massive rate, so don’t neglect Atrophy Tolerance.
Skills 2 and 4 are where you need to be on the ball with your movement. Seismic Pumps has Galvos’ producing damaging rings in ever-increasing size, coming out from him at the center. Have your Tank dodge out the first ring, and then dodge back in to avoid the subsequent waves, while keeping up the attack. Don’t rely on Auto for this – it pays to swap to Manual to employ this bob and weave strategy.
It’s important to dodge as well, as Seismic Pumps inflicts Daze Corruption to those hit by it. Not only does this stun you for a short period, but it removes up to 2 buffs from an Invoker – meaning you lose some of the benefits of Iron Catalyst.
Galvos’ 4th Skill, Steel Entanglement, doesn’t require complex movement, but rapid reaction. The Construct will shoot out chains to drag your party in, and then begin charging up a powerful attack. Once this charging begins, make a mad dash out of the red zone. Hit that dash button as fast as you can! If you don’t react quick enough, that’s more Daze Corruption and more debuffs gone.
Finally, there’s Combustive Power – Galvos’ 5th Skill. For this, he switches his focus to one of the Power Cells at the perimeter of the arena. He’ll destroy it, supercharging his circuits and increasing his ATK, Crit Rate and Crit DMG. He’s wide open while moving and smashing the Power Cell, so keep up the pressure while you have the chance.
The boosts from the Power Cell are permanent stat boosts, so the only way to negate them is through debuffs that lower his ATK, Crit Rate and Crit DMG. Lucky for you, you’ll be applying those anyway to exploit Galvos’ Iron Catalyst Passive.
One more thing to think about – Galvos will keep destroying Power Cells as the fight goes on. While his Crit Rate and Crit DMG increases are capped at 60% and 90% respectively, his ATK will just keep on increasing with every Power Cell he absorbs. Don’t let him reach unlimited power!
