The doors of the Arena are finally open! Added in 0.55, Arena allows players to face off in asynchronous PVP battles, climb the ranks, and earn precious resources to bolster their Invokers.

There are a lot of moving parts to the Arena, so let’s dive in!

Setting Up Your Arena Teams

Before you engage in your first Arena Battle, you need to set up an Arena Defense Team. These are the Invokers and Titans other players will attack when they engage you in an Arena Battle.

Your Defense Team must contain 1 Invoker – you don’t have to take a squad of four. We don’t know why you wouldn’t, but you can!

NOTE: Your Arena Defense Team will fight back against attackers without your input – you just pick the Invokers, Titans and Tactic that will fight valiantly in your defense.

With your Defense Team set, you can now battle others! In the Offense tab, you’ll see the list of opponents you can fight. You’ll be able to see the following info before you start a Battle:

  • The enemy’s Invokers and Titans

  • The levels of those Invokers and Titans

  • Their total Team Power

NOTE: Don't think that just because an opponent's Team Power is higher than yours, it means you can't win. It's meant more as a general indication of their overall strength, based on their Invokers' Level, Relics, Awakening etc.

Similarly, you can take up to 4 Invokers and Titans in your Offense Team. Before you start a Battle, you have the chance to tweak your team – based on the enemy you’re up against.

Arena Tokens

To attack an Arena Defense Team, you need Arena Tokens. You can have a maximum of 10 Arena Tokens, and you gain 1 Arena Token each hour. Keep fighting to gain more!

You will also receive 5 free Arena Tokens for playing for 30 minutes, as part of Playtime Rewards. So each day, you can gain a maximum of 29 free Arena Tokens.

If you have the Gems to spend, you can buy 10 Arena Tokens for 50 Gems in the Gem Shop. There’s no limit – so use ‘em if you got ‘em!

Arena Leagues

When you enter the Arena for the first time, you’ll start with 500 Arena Points. For each win on either Offense or Defense, you’ll gain Arena Points. If you lose a Battle, you’ll lose Arena Points.

NOTE: In the lower sections of particular Leagues, a loss won’t see you lose any Arena Points. You cannot go lower than 500 Arena Points.

Currently, the Arena is split into 3 Leagues – Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Those Leagues are split into smaller divisions:

  • Bronze I - IV

  • Silver I - IV

  • Gold I - IV

We may add more Leagues in future Arena updates but for now, it is only Bronze, Silver, and Gold.

Earn enough Arena Points and you’ll go up in a League. Higher Leagues will see you earning better rewards each week, as well as more Arena Coins and Trophies for each victory.

The current League you are in also determines the players you can fight against.

If you don’t like the current list of players you can fight against, you can refresh the opponent list for free every 15 minutes. If you’ve used up your free refresh, you can spend 10 Gems on an instant refresh.

Beat everyone on your current list of opponents, and the list will refresh for free!

IMPORTANT! You’ll be marked as “inactive” after the Weekly Reset if you don’t initiate at least 1 Arena Battle during the current week.

When marked as inactive, you won’t appear in matchmaking and you’ll drop a League on each subsequent Weekly Reset (until you reach Bronze I).

Weekly Reset and Rewards

At 11:00 UTC each Monday, the Arena will reset. This means you’ll be reset to the minimum points needed for your current Arena League.

For example, if you ended the previous week at the top of Silver II, you’ll start at the bottom of Silver II when the Weekly Reset happens.

You’ll also be awarded a set amount of Gems and a Chest containing random rewards – based where you finished in the previous week when the Arena reset. The higher you finished, the better your rewards!

NOTE: To receive these weekly rewards, you need to have initiated 10 Arena Offense Battles during the week.

There are also Arena-specific Daily, Weekly and Monthly Quests, along with a new tab in Achievements specifically for Arena. Make sure to complete them all!

Arena Battles

To win an Arena Offense Battle, you need to defeat the enemy team within the 5 minute timer. If you fail to defeat them within 5 minutes, you will be awarded a loss.

You will start the Battle in Auto Mode, but you can swap to Manual at any time to gain greater control over the fight.

Your Invoker and Titan Stats are modified during Arena Battles. The modifiers are subject to change, but overall:

  • Invoker Skills start on 70% Cooldown

  • Ultimate and Titan Mana Generation happens faster

  • Titan Cooldowns are reduced but Titan Stats are heavily reduced

The goal is to make Arena Battles fast and frantic, where Titans and clever use of Invoker Skills will win the day.

NOTE: Light and Dark Elements work differently in PvP, where they counter each other. Consult our Elements guide for more!

Battles happen asynchronously, so defending players cannot control their Defense Team during a Battle. They also cannot control who attacks them, and they cannot live spectate a current Battle.

You can see a full history of the Arena Offense and Defense Battles you’ve been involved with during the current week.

In the Defense Tab, you can also see your current win rate for the current week, as well as the amount of times you’ve won when someone’s attacked your Arena Defense team.

Arena Trophies

For Arena Offense victories, you will receive Arena Trophies. The value of the Trophy aligns with the Arena League you are in – Bronze, Silver, or Gold.

You don’t lose Arena Trophies if you lose a Battle, you simply don’t gain any.

You will gain more Arena Trophies depending on your current League.

For example – in Bronze I, you gain 1 Bronze Trophy for a victory. In Bronze IV, you get 4 Bronze Trophies for a victory.

Arena Coins and The Bazaar

Arena Offense victories will also earn you Arena Coins. Arena Coins can be spent in the Bazaar on valuable resources – like Echoes, Codexes, Titanhearts, and Stars!

The purchase limits for each tab of the Market will reset at the same time each day.

  • The Daily tab resets at 00:00 UTC each day

  • The Weekly tab resets at 00:00 UTC each Monday

  • The Monthly tab resets at 00:00 UTC on the 1st day of the month

In the Bazaar, you can also melt down any spare Trophies into Arena Coins via the Coin Crafter.

  • 1 Bronze Trophy converts to 1 Arena Coin

  • 1 Silver Trophy converts to 5 Arena Coins

  • 1 Gold Trophy converts to 10 Arena Coins

The Trophy Room

The main way to use Arena Trophies is in the Trophy Room. Here, you can spend Arena Trophies to gain global stat upgrades for all Invokers (and therefore Titans!) of a specific Element.

If you’re ever stuck on what to focus on next, upgrading the Trophy Room will improve your strength in every mode – Campaign, Spires, Bosses, you name it.

Each Element has its own set of upgrades, broken down by category.

  • Attack – ATK%, Crit Rate, Combo SPD and Crit DMG

  • Defense – HP%, DEF%, RES, Instinct

  • Utility – ACC, Skill RECOV, Mana GEN, Skill SPD

To upgrade a Stat in the Trophy Room, you need to use Arena Trophies. As you upgrade a particular Stat, you’ll require greater numbers of Trophies, and of higher values.

A Stat can be upgraded from Level 1 to Level 15.

  • Levels 1 to 5 require Bronze Trophies

  • Levels 6 to 10 require Silver Trophies

  • Levels 11 to 15 require Gold Trophies

If you don’t have enough Trophies of a lower value, but you have ones of a higher value, they’ll be automatically converted when you try to upgrade.

  • 1 Gold Trophy can be converted into 2 Silver Trophies

  • 1 Silver Trophy can be converted into 2 Bronze Trophies

  • 1 Gold Trophy can be converted into 4 Bronze Trophies

EXAMPLE – If an upgrade requires 20 Bronze Trophies, and you only had 5 Gold Trophies, you could complete the upgrade using those 5 Gold Trophies (as 1 Gold Trophy = 4 Bronze Trophies).

Filling out the Trophy Room will take a while, so see it as a marathon, not a sprint!
